Low Flow Heels Instructor Training
SCHOLARSHIP FOR DIVERSITY
We are pleased to announce the launch of our Teacher Training Scholarship for Diversity, aimed at addressing the lack of representation in the pole world. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for dancers from underrepresented groups to excel in the field of pole dancing and teaching. This scholarship aims to empower individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTIQ+, sex workers, and any marginalized group.
If you don’t belong to any of the categories mentioned above but express your diversity in another way (e.g., physical disability) and believe that you would benefit from the scholarship, helping to represent and broaden the spectrum of humanity in the pole community, we wholeheartedly encourage you to apply.
What does the Scholarship offer?
We have 4 spots available, one for each of our 2023 Low Flow Heels Instructor Training programs (1 spot for Los Angeles, 1 spot for Brisbane, 1 spot for Berlin, and 1 spot for the Online program). Successful applicants will receive a 75% scholarship for the Teacher Training course. It is important to note that this scholarship covers the course fee only and does not include travel expenses or accommodation.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Teaching Experience: Applicants should already be actively teaching heels and have a passion for sharing their knowledge with others.
Commitment to Learning: Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to their own learning and personal growth, showing a desire to continuously improve their teaching skills.
Contribution to the Pole Community: Applicants are required to outline how they have contributed to the pole community, whether through organizing events, supporting fellow dancers, or any other means.
How to apply
To apply for the Scholarship, please prepare:
1. Motivational Statement
Provide a statement (maximum 500 words) explaining why you wish to apply for the scholarship. Describe how receiving this opportunity will impact your journey as a pole dancer and teacher.
2. Character Reference
Include at least one character reference from within the pole community. This reference should speak to your dedication, skills, and potential as a pole dancing instructor.
3. Heels Skills Video
Submit a video showcasing your heels skills. The video should be maximum 2 minutes long. Please include in the video the following elements in any order:
- Strong, stable pirouettes on both sides
- Leg & body waves
- Controlled transfer of weight over the front and side of the shoe platform (e.g. maintaining ankle control during a transition to the floor or a diamond turn on the floor)
- Holding your body weight with your arms (e.g. split grip, pull up, spin)
- Confidence in performing combos & choreographies with smooth transitions between moves
We want to emphasize that all participants in the program, regardless of their diversity or physical abilities, will be expected to commit to the same level of work and dedication. The Heels Teacher Training course is an intensive program that demands motivation and a strong work ethic.
Want to apply for the scholarship?
Applications are open until July 9th
We will take some time to review all the applications and you’ll be receiving an answer between July 18th to July 31st.
