part 1: edgecraft – heels fundamentals & edgework

The essence of the edge-craft style lies in first exploring and dancing on all your edges. In part1, you’ll explore how you use your shoe, revisit and refresh some fundamental heels skills, including stiletto tip walk, Wing walk and flex foot pirouettes. You will discover how to gain stability, balance and control when wearing heels while you’ll dive deep into tracing the floor using Edgework techniques.

part 2: merge – heels, pole & floor connection

In Part 2 you will gain awareness of the connection between the pole, the floor, and shoes and how you can utilize this connection to create mesmerizing choreography. You’ll learn how to use each element to sharpen your edge-craft technique and style. You will develop your floor-heel connection in heel-drives, weight transfer and distributions. You’ll drag, trace, slide weightlessly and smooth out new movement pathways.

part 3: float – glides, skates & pirouettes  

Ready to level up your gliding and skating skills so you can float effortlessly over the floor? In this part you will wave, fly, and add more complex elements like turns, pivots and speedy rotations. You will also gain a sense of how to glide over the floor and combine this with weightless moves. This will take your Edgework to the next level! Many of the techniques & elements in part 3 are unique to Tati’s style, so you’re in for a delicious treat this part!

part 4: artistry – aesthetics, accents & flow

In our final part together, you’ll learn to develop and explore with the guidance of Tati towards your own interpretation of the Edgework movements and her concept of slink. Find a deeper connection to your own unique style using guided exercises, prompts and more. Feel the music accents and own your flow while you skilfully trace, paint and create using your edges. Tati (@tatibluuue) has been developing her technique in dance, gymnastics and acrobatics since she was just 9 years old. With over 25 years of training and over two decades of teaching, performing, and choreographing, she has turned passionately to heels pole dance and hasn’t looked back. Tati has mastered a truly artistic heelwork style with a strong focus on Edgework. She is passionate about helping you to become your best and develop your own unique style by using prompts and cues. Tati will help you explore new pathways, connect your expression, and dramatically improve your complex heelwork technique.

At your own pace you work through four modules, each covering an essential ingredient to learn edgework and Tati’s slinky style. Each module is designed to be completed in approximately one week, however the pace you complete the course at is totally up to you! You’ll be able to view the course online for two years from the date of purchase.

Yes! The course is designed for those who are new to Edgework and want to learn the best technique from the start or for dancers who wants to refresh your Edgework fundamentals and slink up their dance.

We are looking for a freelance Video Content Creator & Social Media Assistant to create and manage social content.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the social media calendar

  • Creating video content (e.g. reels) to connect with our social media audience and promote Indi Pole products

  • Ensuring content is created and delivered on time

  • Liaising with team members to coordinate social media content 

  • Editing videos from existing video content 
  • Ensuring brand guidelines are followed, to ensure a beautiful look and feel for all accounts 
  • Weekly social media analytics reporting
  • Staying on top of, and exploiting social media trends, algorithm changes and new features & implementing where relevant to our brand
  • Assisting with social media planning and management as required, including caption writing, posting & inbox management
  • Auditing social media accounts & recommending & implementing improvements

You might be suited to this role if:

  • You are an experienced video content creator. You will need to demonstrate examples of your work. 
  • You are familiar with video editing and video editing tools
  • You are very organised & enjoy working in a fast paced team 
  • You have formal or informal marketing or social media management experience
  • You know how to write captivating captions 
  • You/re interested in marketing, how the Instagram algorithm evolves and love experimenting with new social media trends to see what works
  • You want to work in a dynamic team and love receiving feedback often so you can improve and learn

What’s special about this Retreat? This Retreat is all about static pole flow. On this Retreat you’ll explore & become friends with (or master) static rotation. You’ll improve your static movement vocabulary with two of the most original & creative static movers in the world.

What will you learn on the Retreat? You’ll learn a variety of skills & combinations on static pole, at the base & in the air. Who is the Retreat suitable for? The Art of Static Retreat is suitable for you if you can invert (straddle) & have your outside leg hang. Some experience with static pole is encouraged. This is a non-heels Retreat.

These Goddesses are known for their exceptional fluidity & movement quality, the kind you can’t take your eyes off. When you watch them, you can’t help but luxuriate in the details. Bringing these women together to teach for the first time, you’ll benefit from understanding the hypnotic elements of both old school & flow style, to create your own unique, bewitching movement style. What’s special about this Retreat? This unique Retreat will have two streams:

Baby Goddess: You’ll focus on mastering the foundations of dancing in heels, developing strong technique & fluidity, to help you fall in love with heels. This is the world’s first ever beginner heels Retreat.

Slinky Queen: If you already have strong heel technique, you’ll focus on developing new heels skills including legwork, edgework, weightless flow & acrobatic elements

Who are your instructors? This the first time Tati & Indi have come together to teach on a Retreat. As the creators of Indi Pole Retreats & established dancers & instructors in their own right, their passions are helping dancers master the heels basics, and helping more advanced dancers improve their slinky flow through specialized skills including legwork, edgework, weightless flow & transitions, heel’batics & more.

Their styles are a mix of old school & flow styles, and they are ready to help you take your slink to the next level. Indi currently holds Exotic Generation Australia Old School 2nd place & Best Legwork, while Tati is the current Filthy Fever Denmark Professional Champion & Pole Theatre Latvia Classique & overall champion.

What will you learn on the Retreat? This Retreat will include a unique combination of Workshops & Masterclasses.  In the Workshops, you’ll learn new techniques, skills, tricks & choreographies. In our Masterclasses, you will dive deep into topics 

Baby Goddesses: you’ll master the basics & learn how to flow confidently in heels. Topics include heel anatomy & technique, conditioning for heels, perfect pirouettes, waves lab, floorwork, forearm/handstands, choreography & more

Slinky Queens: Legwork, edgework, weightless flow, handstands at the pole, inverted waves, silky smooth transitions, as well as slinky, flowy choreographies & more

Who is the Retreat suitable for? This Retreat is unique in that we offer two streams, one for beginners & one for more advanced dancers. 

Our Baby Goddess stream is perfect for you if you’re heels-curious or you’ve just started dancing in heels, but feel you don’t have all the basics mastered. 

Our Slinky Queen stream is for you if you are already confident dancing in heels, can confidently pirouette in heels on both sides & can hold your body weight in your arms in a pole pull up or split grip.
